Import Methods

The "Upload" section is the 2nd step in the feed task creation process of the DropSynco App.

In this section you can select the import method corresponding with your supplier feed source.

Notice that only the following file formats are supported by the DropSynco app: JSON, CSV, TXT, XLS(X) and XML.

FTP / FTPS

Shopify product import via FTP / FTPS server connection

The FTP(S) import method allows your DropSynco Feed Task to access an FTP or FTPS server endpoint provided by your supplier. For example: ftp.your-feed.com

In case the FTP server is protected by a password, please provide your credentials (also provided by your supplier).

Notice that passwords are always encrypted before being stored on the DropSynco server.

In case the feed product files are not located at the root directory of the server you can specify the directory path in the "Directory" field. For example: /my-sub-directory/files

Optional: In case you want to filter the files in the directory by file name (if the file name contains dates or specific keywords for example), use the field "File Pattern" where you can use a regular expression to filter only the files you're interested in. For example: my-files\.csv

By clicking on the "Next" button the DropSynco app tries to connect to the FTP server and lists the files found on the server. In case any of the server details (hostname, port, credentials, directory, etc.) is not correct, a server connection error message will appear.

Select a file which then will be used as a template for the "Mapping" step (mapping file fields/columns to the Shopify properties).

SFTP

SFTP import method is similar to FTP(S), but it allows you to add the SFTP server certificate provided by your supplier.

See the section above regarding the FTP/FTPS for more info about the fields "Directory" and "File Pattern".

Notice that the server certificate is always encrypted before being stored on the DropSynco server.

Google Drive API

Notice that passwords are always encrypted before being stored on the DropSynco server.

Optional: In case you want to filter the files in the directory by file name (if the file name contains dates or specific keywords for example), use the field "File Pattern" where you can use a regular expression to filter only the files you're interested in. For example: my-files\.csv

Please visit the following site for a full reference of the regular expressions: Regular Expression reference

By clicking on the "Next" button the DropSynco app tries to connect to the Google Drive API server and lists the files found on the server. In case any of the server details (hostname, port, credentials, directory, etc.) is not correct, a server connection error message will appear.
